Privacy Policy

Spot MK ("we", "us", or "the App") is operated by Edvin Hajrulovski. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Spot MK mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account information — When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, we receive your name and email from that provider; we never see your social-account password.

Business information — Business owners who register a business provide a business name, category, description, address, city, phone number, opening hours, and photos.

Reservation data — When you make a reservation we store the date, time, party size, selected service, and any notes you provide.

Reviews — If you leave a review we store the rating and comment text along with your display name.

Device & usage data

Location — With your permission we access your device location to show nearby businesses. Location data is used in real time and is not stored on our servers.
Push notification tokens — If you allow notifications we store a device token so we can send you reservation updates. Tokens are deleted when you log out or delete your account.
Photos — Business owners can upload photos from their device library or camera. Photos are associated with the business listing.
Crash reports — We may use Sentry to collect anonymous crash and error data to improve app stability.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account.
To process and display reservations for both customers and business owners.
To send push notifications about reservation status changes.
To show businesses near your current location.
To display reviews left by customers.
To send transactional emails (invitation links, password resets).
To improve the App and fix bugs.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these cases:

With business owners — When you make a reservation, the business owner sees your name, party size, date/time, and any notes.
With customers — Business information (name, address, photos, hours) is visible to all users.
Service providers — We use Supabase (database hosting), Expo (push notifications), and optionally Sentry (error tracking). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
Legal requirements — We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers in the European Union (AWS eu-west-1 via Supabase). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. Communication between the App and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.

5. Your Rights

You can:

Access & update your profile information at any time through the App.
Delete your account from the Profile screen, which permanently removes your user data, reservations, and reviews.
Withdraw permissions for location or notifications through your device settings.
Request a copy of your data by contacting us at the email below.

6. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted. Anonymous, aggregated data (such as reservation counts) may be retained for analytics.

7. Children's Privacy

Spot MK is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Users

Spot MK is available worldwide. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to the European Union where our servers are located.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the latest revision.
